Bangalore Apartment Federation Disappointed with Karnataka State Budget 2025-26

The Bangalore Apartment Federation (BAF) has expressed disappointment over the recently announced Karnataka State Budget 2025-26, citing a lack of focus on urban infrastructure, water supply, and apartment-related concerns.

Key Concerns Raised by BAF

🔹 Ignored Apartment Residents’ Needs – The budget does not adequately address issues such as property tax rationalization, waste management, and water supply—all crucial for apartment dwellers.
🔹 Water Crisis Unaddressed – With Bangalore facing severe water shortages, the federation expected more provisions for sustainable water solutions.
🔹 Lack of Clarity on Infrastructure Projects – BAF has criticized the budget for not providing specific timelines and funding details for key urban infrastructure projects.

Demands of the Bangalore Apartment Federation

Property Tax Reforms – A simplified and fair tax structure for apartment owners.
Better Waste Management Policies – Stronger initiatives for segregation, recycling, and disposal of waste in residential complexes.
Water Conservation Measures – Increased investment in rainwater harvesting, borewell recharge, and Cauvery water supply expansion.

Government’s Response

While the Karnataka government has emphasized urban development in its budget, apartment residents feel that their specific needs have been overlooked. BAF has urged the government to engage in discussions and ensure that apartment dwellers' concerns are included in future policy decisions.

As Bangalore continues to expand, the demand for better urban planning and infrastructure support is growing, making it crucial for the government to address these concerns in the coming years.
