On the 31st of July and 1st of August as monsoon breeze swept through the campus of Don Bosco School, Park Circus, hundreds of students gathered not just to exhibit science experiments but to spark a revolution in education. Partnering with International STEAM Research (ISR), USA, the school hosted MuseVention 2025, a two-day interdisciplinary STEAM showcase that redefined what experiential learning looks like in India. What unfolded was more than an event it was a celebration. A celebration of ideas, of effort, of emotion. A celebration of the muse within each learner.
From disaster mitigation drones to Formula 1 simulation, from crop management models to architectural cityscapes, over 500 student prototypes turned the venue into a launchpad for innovation. These young changemakers didn’t just present projects; they told stories of exploration, months in the making, fueled by curiosity and guided by ISR-certified facilitators. The scope was staggering. Students tackled real-world challenges, blending science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in a seamless dance of discovery. The event’s interdisciplinary theme rippled across projects speaking to
Environmental stewardship, Urban infrastructure & traffic engineering, Aerospace design & surveillance drones, Assistive technologies, Creative expression & architectural beauty. Each prototype stood as a beacon of invention literacy, proof that STEAM education goes far beyond textbooks, it empowers youth to envision, design, and build the future.
If the students were the stars of MuseVention, the parents were the heart. Many families, attending such a showcase for the first time, watched with awe as their children confidently presented complex, creative solutions to global problems. “I couldn’t believe my son designed a warzone rescue robot. Don Bosco saw what I didn’t, his genius,” shared a parent, teary-eyed and beaming with pride. In a profoundly emotional gesture, Certificates of Honour were awarded by ISR and Don Bosco to parents who supported their children's innovation journeys. It was a powerful acknowledgement: that behind every spark of creativity lies a home that nurtures it.
MuseVention helped shift perspectives too. Through engaging exhibits and conversations, parents were sensitized to resist the pressure of conventional career tracks and instead embrace their child’s passions. The event wasn't just about showcasing innovation. It was about changing mindsets.
Principals and educators from institutions like Calcutta Boys, Don Bosco Kalyani, South Point High, Modern High School, Shri Shikshayatan, and others joined the celebration. Many noted that MuseVention 2025 rivalled global academic exhibitions in both concept and execution. “It’s rare to see interdisciplinary projects of this caliber,” one educator remarked. “Don Bosco and ISR have created a model for immersive learning that every school should aspire to.”
In the words of an ISR facilitator, “MuseVention isn’t just preparing students for jobs, it’s preparing them for life.” With employers now seeking versatile thinkers and collaborative innovators, events like MuseVention are stepping in to close the gap between classroom learning and workplace demands. This experiential model aligns perfectly with Education 4.0 and India’s NEP 2020 goals: to foster critical thinking, holistic development, and adaptability. MuseVention offers not just a glimpse of the future but the tools to build it.
With over 2000 attendees, MuseVention 2025 proved that the thirst for transformative education is real and rising. The energy, conversations, and creativity flowing across the Don Bosco campus created a ripple effect: one that will influence classrooms, curriculums, and careers long after the final applause. MuseVention was not just another competition. It was a call to action. A call to explore. A call to empower. And most importantly, a call to believe., because when education finds its muse… learning becomes limitless.
