Raha, Assam: Royal Gurukul Academy, an English Medium School, formerly known as HAPPY KIDS CENTER, situated at Ward No. 2, Raha, Nagaon District, Assam, has been steadily emerging as a centre of excellence in early childhood and foundational education. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and joyful learning environment that focuses on academic excellence, character building, creativity, and holistic development. With the vision of raising responsible, confident, and compassionate global citizens, and the mission of imparting value-based education through innovative teaching methods and experiential learning, Royal Gurukul Academy strives to ignite curiosity and instill lifelong learning habits among its students. The institution also places special emphasis on environmental awareness, community participation, and the development of social responsibility from an early age.
On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, the school organized a series of meaningful and engaging activities for students of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Preparatory classes (aged 2 to 5 years). The tiny learners were introduced to the concept of the environment and taught simple yet effective ways to protect it. Through interactive sessions, they learned the importance of keeping their surroundings clean, conserving water by turning off taps while brushing or bathing, and planting trees to maintain a cool and healthy environment. The children were also made aware of the many benefits of trees, including providing fresh air, shade, and helping regulate temperature.
As part of the celebrations, the Pre-Nursery and Nursery students showcased their creativity by making eco-friendly dustbins from used cartons. They decorated them with the message “USE ME” and placed them in areas where they noticed garbage accumulation. Some students even donated their handmade dustbins to local shopkeepers, spreading awareness about cleanliness and encouraging responsible waste disposal within the community.
The young environmental ambassadors further expressed their love for nature by bringing saplings for plantation within the school premises and indoor plants to beautify their classrooms. The initiative helped inculcate a sense of care and responsibility towards greenery from an early age. Meanwhile, the Preparatory class students participated in a unique seed-germination activity using eggshells, cotton, and mustard seeds. They were taught the importance of sowing seeds and will now monitor the growth of their plants at home, making the learning process both exciting and memorable.
The celebration reflected Royal Gurukul Academy's commitment to instilling environmental values among its students and highlighted the message that even the smallest hands can make a big difference in protecting the planet. Through these activities, the school reaffirmed its belief that nurturing a love for nature in early childhood is essential for building a greener and more sustainable future.
