🔹 Significance for Tejas Mk1A – The upgraded Tejas Mk1A variant is set to enhance the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fleet with improved avionics, better radar systems, and superior operational capabilities.

Strategic Importance of the Deal

Strengthening ‘Make in India’ – While the engines are sourced from the U.S., the deal aligns with India's push for self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
Boost for IAF Modernization – The timely integration of these engines ensures that the IAF can expand and upgrade its fleet without further setbacks.
Future Prospects – India is also in discussions with GE for the F414 engine, which could power the upcoming Tejas Mk2 and AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft).
